For Sale

Various members of Norwich Baroque have, at one time or another, had instruments for sale. It is always hard to know where best to advertise them. So, we have decided to have our own "For Sale" page. Any instrument / bow advertised here is being sold by someone with a Norwich Baroque connection. However Norwich Baroque takes no responsibility for authenticity or quality of any instrument advertised. We of course trust our friends and would certainly never knowingly advertise something wrongly described or priced, but it is entirely the responsibility of the buyer to make the appropriate checks.

7. New - made by Eric Mawby, Norfolk.
VIOLA - 412mm (16 3/8 inch) - £2000
CELLO - 3/4 size - £3000

Personal recommendation : I have one of Eric's violas... the brother of this one, and it is a gorgeous instrument... lovely open rich sound, strong throughout the register and so easy to play. As a fiddler it doenst get played as regualrly as it could do but as soon as you run the bow over the strings it sings. It is never moody! It is regularly borrowed by esteemed friends who prefer it to their own violas.

The cello was made for Eric's grand-daughter with all the care and attention one would expect of an excellent maker and loving grandpa. She has now outgrown it.
