Saturday 27th October - Bach Concertos

Well, as hoped, this was a treat for all lovers of J.S Bach; a real Bach-Fest! Some of his best loved concertos and some less well-known in an evening show-casing our home grown talent.
We returned to the intimate surroundings of the United Reformed Church at Princes Street, Norwich, for this concert of Bach concertos.

Concertos for:
2 violins - the "bach double" in D minor
Oboe and violin
Oboe d`amore
Violin - Concerto in A minor
The 3rd Brandenberg concerto
plus the beautiful Erbarme Dich from St Matthew Passion arranged for oboe d`amore...beautiful.

Many lovely comments followed the concert. The review, sadly, said very little about the performace and just listed what we played and commented on the fact that the gaps between the movements were too long. On several occasions people were moving around upstairs just as we were about to start and therefore the pauses were extended a little but otherwise we feel they were appropriate for a mood change. The playing of all 3 soloists was inspirational...thank you so much to John, Rachel and Robert.
