2009 - the Leap to Period Instruments

In 2009 we enjoyed a collaboration with the Cathedral Consort for the forever favourite, Messiah, before making the leap to period instruments for the first time with a concert of Brandenburg Concertos in St Peter Mancroft. We also enjoyed some gorgeous playing in the most atmospheric of settings, St. Helen's church, Bishopgate, part of "The Great Hospital", with violinist Rebecca Burman and Cellist Alison McGillivray.

In the autumn we did our bit to try to raise funds for The King of Hearts - centre for People and The Arts, which, despite everyone's efforts, sadly closed at the end of the following year.

Cellist Richard Tunnicliffe was our excellent soloist for "English Elegance and the Baroque Cello" giving us the chance to enjoy playing the music of some of the best English Baroque composers (in our eyes anyway)..Avison, Garth and, of course, Mudge.
