Philipp and Jens form half of the ENSEMBLE AMARILLI, a busy instrumental and vocal ensemble based in Hamburg.
With a focus on "early music", the group combines the virtuoso agility and refined elegance of Baroque music with occasionally new and original compositions from both Philipp and Jens.
They have been described in recent press releases as
• Entertaining, reflective and artistically very level
• Calmly meditative, and Full of life and honest joy
• Performing with a style which is virtuosic, agile and from the depth of the soul
It was a joy to welcome these two sparkling musicians and we can certainly vouch for the description above. Their music dances with style, energy, poise and mischief! We hope that they will return sometime.
This concert also saw the premiere for Justin Breame's winning composition "Camera Obscura", a popular choice with players and audience alike. The appetite for new music of this calibre is still healthy.
